Citroën to launch affordable electric 2CV by 2026
At Stellantis' Investor Day, French automaker Citroën unveiled plans to revive its iconic 2CV as a modern, low‑cost electric vehicle. The new model will keep the original’s values of simplicity, lightness and practicality while featuring a fully electric power‑train aimed at city use.
Citroën intends to present a concept at the Paris Motor Show in October, with series production slated for Italy alongside a Fiat Panda variant. The vehicle is part of the group's FaSTLane 2030 strategy, targeting a 2026 market debut and a 2028 start of manufacturing, to meet tightening low‑emission zone rules and rising EV prices in Europe.
