Global water and sanitation infrastructure projects underway

Various regional governments and utility providers are implementing water and sanitation infrastructure projects across Latin America and Spain.

In Peru, Minister Mauricio Arnillas is supervising water and sewage projects in Ate, Santa Anita, and El Agustino, involving an investment of S/2172 million to benefit over 230,000 citizens. Similarly, Sedapal has announced scheduled water cuts in Lima to perform essential maintenance on storage systems.

In Mexico, DAPAS is working to separate storm and sanitary drainage in the Valles River area to prevent flooding, while in Jardines de Chalco, Mayor Abigail Sánchez Martínez has launched a project to replace the sanitary drainage network using high-density polyethylene piping.

In Spain, the Siero City Council is investing one million euros to provide potable water to Otero, Espiniella, and El Cuto. In Argentina, cleaning and sanitation works are underway on the Canal de Desagües Sur in Navarro to mitigate climate change risks. In Venezuela, Hidroven and the Carirubana Mayor's Office are replacing a 114-meter collector in Nuevo Pueblo Sur to resolve structural failures in the sewage system. Additionally, Sameep is working on new sewage connections in Isla del Cerrito to benefit 650 families.
