Overview

Municipalities across several regions continue to conduct diverse public works and infrastructure maintenance projects, with a recent focus on urban accessibility, emergency repairs, and water sanitation.

In Spain, accessibility improvements are progressing in Cuenca’s Fuente del Oro and Ferrol’s Canido neighborhood. Jerez has approved a second phase of sidewalk improvements for 60 streets, while Almería continues resurfacing work. In Seville, renovations are underway on the exterior of the La Cartuja stadium. Additionally, the Siero City Council is investing one million euros to provide potable water to Otero, Espiniella, and El Cuto.

In Peru, Minister Mauricio Arnillas is supervising water and sewage projects in Ate, Santa Anita, and El Agustino, involving an investment of S/2172 million. In Lima, Sedapal has announced scheduled water cuts for essential maintenance on storage systems.

In South America, Argentina is conducting cleaning and sanitation works on the Canal de Desagües Sur in Navarro to mitigate climate change risks. In Venezuela, crews remain engaged in repairing a collapsed culvert on Troncal 9, while Hidroven and the Carirubana Mayor's Office are replacing a 114-meter collector in Nuevo Pueblo Sur. In Isla del Cerrito, Sameep is working on new sewage connections to benefit 650 families.

Other regional activities include emergency repairs to the El Libertador Bridge in La Serena, Chile, and a road sinkhole in Mixco, Guatemala, caused by a collapsed pipe.
