Extreme weather alerts issued for several regions in Mexico and the US

Various regions across Mexico and the United States are facing significant weather challenges, including extreme heat and storm warnings.

In Mexico, Nuevo Laredo is experiencing extreme heat with heat indices exceeding 46°C, prompting Civil Protection to warn against leaving children, seniors, or pets in vehicles. Chihuahua capital is also preparing for high temperatures up to 34°C and potential rainfall. In Ciudad Juárez, authorities have issued weather alerts for storms and varying wind speeds, warning of possible flooding and lightning. Additionally, road closures are planned in Ciudad Juárez due to sporting events, local festivals, and infrastructure repairs.

In the United States, New York City has issued heat alerts with perceived temperatures reaching up to 97°F, advising citizens to stay hydrated and seek shade to avoid heat exhaustion.
