Following extreme heat and storm warnings in early August, the weather crisis in northern Mexico has persisted with significant health and resource concerns. In Ciudad Juárez, authorities issued alerts for temperatures reaching 41 °C, noting risks to vulnerable populations and potential fires in dry vegetation. On August 13, the Secretariat of Health in Ciudad Juárez issued a specific warning regarding food safety, noting that rising temperatures increase the risk of acute diarrheal diseases from contaminated or decomposing food. Dr. Roberto Suárez highlighted that improper handling of produce and poor hygiene can lead to infections and severe dehydration, particularly in children, seniors, and those with underlying conditions. By late August, extreme heat continued to impact the region. In Tijuana, temperatures reached up to 36 °C, prompting the Comisión Estatal de Servicios Públicos de Tijuana to recommend water conservation to manage rising demand. The Cámara Mexicana de la Industria de la Construcción reported that at least 12 construction workers in Tijuana suffered from dehydration and heatstroke during the month. Meanwhile, in Mexicali and San Felipe, temperatures were expected to exceed 45 °C, even as the Mexican monsoon brought forecasts of heavy rains and thunderstorms to the broader Baja California region. On August 26, the Dirección General de Protección Civil (DGPC) issued a preventive alert for northern Ciudad Juárez as temperatures were expected to reach 40 °C. By early September, extreme heat continued to affect border regions. In the Tijuana-San Diego area, the National Weather Service issued a heat advisory, with temperatures in San Diego County valleys expected to reach between 36 °C and 38 °C. In Tamaulipas, temperatures were forecasted to reach 40 °C in Nuevo Laredo and Reynosa, while Ciudad Victoria was anticipated to hit 38 °C.
