Ciudadela: Thieves posing as utility workers rob elderly woman
Two criminals posing as employees of the electricity company Edenor entered a home in Ciudadela, Buenos Aires province, to rob a 73-year-old woman. The suspects gained entry by claiming they needed to perform electrical repairs, leading the victim to leave the door open.
Once inside, the assailants attacked the woman and threw her to the floor. The victim's son, Donato, who was sleeping in another room, heard her screams and intervened. He engaged in a physical struggle with the intruders, during which he was struck and threatened with a screwdriver.
Donato managed to fight the men off and force them out of the house, though the suspects fled the scene. Following the altercation, Donato was transported to Hospital Santojanni for medical assistance.
