Poland: Regional developments and shifting political polling
Various regional and national developments are occurring across Poland. In Bielsko-Biała, a new 500-square-meter community center has opened at a cost of nearly 7.5 million PLN, though some residents have expressed concerns regarding municipal spending priorities, such as road maintenance and school infrastructure.
In Białystok, an agreement was signed for the construction of new municipal housing units on Absolwentów Street. The project, valued at over 110 million PLN, will provide 394 apartments and a multi-level garage, with significant funding provided by the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego.
On the political front, recent polling shows Koalicja Obywatelska leading with 27.8 percent support, followed by Prawo i Sprawiedliwość at 19.1 percent. Discussions regarding future electoral lists and potential coalitions continue, with officials noting the importance of preventing votes from being split among parties that may not meet the electoral threshold. Additionally, political tensions persist regarding potential cooperation between various right-wing factions and the role of President Karol Nawrocki in the legislative process.
Cultural initiatives include the conclusion of the 2026 European Heritage Days in Lower Silesia, which saw over 9,000 participants, and a project in Karczemki focused on protecting an Evangelical cemetery.
