Civil defense agencies in Brazil conduct emergency training and issue weather alerts

Civil defense agencies in Brazil are conducting training and issuing alerts to manage climate-related risks. In Salvador, Codesal is hosting a new edition of the Mobiliza project, a volunteer training program designed to prepare citizens for emergency situations. The program covers risk perception, climate change impacts, and first aid, aiming to create community-based agents of prevention.

In Rio Grande do Sul, the Civil Defense has issued alerts for severe weather, including storms, hail, and winds exceeding 100 km/h. Additionally, in Canoas, local residents through the Community Protection and Civil Defense Nucleus (NUPIDEC) have participated in preparation activities to identify risks and coordinate with official teams during extreme weather events.
