Civil Society Movements Mobilize Youth in DRC and Burkina Faso

On 20 June 2026, the AGORA citizen movement held a seminar in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, promoting national reconciliation, citizen responsibility and greater participation of women in public affairs. Organisers highlighted the need for dialogue, social cohesion and youth involvement to rebuild the country and improve health, education and nutrition.

The same day in Burkina Faso, the RCA (Réveils toi, Crois et Agis) movement organised a public conference urging the country's young people to take control of their lives, develop leadership skills and utilise digital marketing for personal and national development. Speakers linked the initiative to President Ibrahim Traoré’s agenda and stressed that youth must act alongside the government to drive progress.

Both events illustrate growing civil‑society efforts in Central Africa to engage young citizens in nation‑building and socio‑economic development.
