CJI and UNESCO announce winners of media literacy competitions in Moldova
The Center for Independent Journalism (CJI), in partnership with UNESCO and DW Akademie, has announced the winners of two media literacy competitions in Moldova.
The “Little Media Detective” contest, aimed at primary school students, received 31 entries. Originally intended to award five prizes, CJI increased the number to eight due to high interest. Participants were tasked with creating illustrated stories demonstrating how to verify information encountered on social media or in their communities using methods such as questioning sources and verifying facts before sharing.
Additionally, CJI and UNESCO designated winners for the “Learning to Filter. Creating Digital Content that Inspires Trust” competition. This initiative was specifically dedicated to digital content creators in Moldova and followed training programs held in July 2026. The awards ceremony took place in Chișinău on October 23, 2026.
