Classical music festivals scheduled across Romania

Several major classical music events are scheduled to take place across Romania in late October and November 2026.

In Oradea, the Oradea State Philharmonic will host a vocal-symphonic concert titled ‘Clopotele’ on October 29. Conducted by Vladimir Lungu, the program features works by Arvo Pärt and Sergei Rachmaninoff, including ‘Silouan’s Song’ and the symphonic poem ‘The Isle of the Dead’. The performance includes soloists Tatiana Lisnic, Cristian Mogoșan, and Florin Estefan.

The 21st edition of the SoNoRo Festival, themed ‘Infinite Melody’, will run from October 30 to November 15 in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. Inspired by Richard Wagner, the festival features 20 concerts and 35 international artists. The opening concert, ‘Lord of the Strings’, will perform works by Wagner, Mozart, and others.

Additionally, the 11th edition of the ‘Dinu Lipatti Musical Prizes’ National Festival-Competition will be held at the Pitești Philharmonic on October 30, showcasing young violinists under the presidency of Simina Croitoru.
