Claudia Sheinbaum marks 50th anniversary of Heroico Colegio Militar

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo led a commemorative ceremony to mark the 50th anniversary of the Heroico Colegio Militar's Tlalpan campus. During the event, she unveiled a commemorative plaque to honor the institution's history and its role in training personnel to defend national independence and sovereignty.

Sheinbaum emphasized that the national interest must always take precedence over individual interests, invoking the principle “la patria es primero” (the homeland comes first). She noted that the institution has graduated nearly 27,000 cadets over the past five decades.

The President highlighted the military's role as servants of the nation, stating that their mission includes maintaining peace, exercising discipline with humanity, and respecting human rights. She also acknowledged the Armed Forces' presence in supporting the population during natural disasters, such as earthquakes and hurricanes.
