On 19 July, the Democratic Party held its city congress in Pescara at the Centro Polivalente “Mons. Gustavo Britti”, under the theme “Dove comincia il sole”. Claudio Mastrangelo was elected the new city secretary. Annalisa Libbi was chosen as president of the city assembly, Nicola Maiale as treasurer, Daniela Rucci as vice‑secretary and Monaim Mouatamid as coordinator of the political initiative.

The meeting was attended by regional and provincial party leaders, including regional secretary Daniele Marinelli, provincial secretary Carmen Ranalli and youth secretary Saverio Gileno, as well as local elected officials and representatives of other parties and unions. In his programmatic speech, Mastrangelo pledged to build an open, inclusive party rooted in neighbourhoods, promising a listening tour across the city’s peripheries, centre, river and sea to develop a strong local government proposal.
