Clemente Russo announces professional boxing return at age 44
Italian boxer Clemente Russo, known as ‘Tatanka’, has announced his return to the ring at age 44. The two-time world champion and two-time Olympic silver medalist will make his professional debut on November 21 at the Allianz Cloud in Milan.
Russo will face Momo Elmaghraby, the Italian super-middleweight champion, who is 16 years his junior. Russo stated that his decision to return was driven by a desire to test his own rhythm, endurance, and reflexes rather than financial gain. He noted that the idea began as a joke following a proposal from Edoardo Germani of The Art of Fighting, but after a month of training, he decided to commit to the challenge.
