Călin Georgescu announces Oradea visit amid political activity

Călin Georgescu has announced a visit to Piața 100 in Oradea this Sunday as part of his ‘Toamna Cămărilor Românești’ campaign, which aims to promote local Romanian producers. Georgescu stated that the location offers fresh produce and traditional goods, though Liviu Andrica, Director of the Oradea Public Domain Administration, contested this description. Andrica noted that the market is primarily known for second-hand cars and antiques, with the agricultural sector occupying only a small fraction of the total area. He suggested the location might have been chosen due to the high number of people who visit the market on Sundays.

In response to the announcement, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan explained that his ability to travel across the country is limited by his governmental responsibilities. Bolojan noted that the past four months have been difficult due to the need to finalize the PNRR, manage government transitions, and address legislative requirements. He distinguished between the schedule of a head of government and those without direct political administrative duties, stating that while others can hold meetings as they wish, his time is consumed by state activities.
