Céline Dion concludes Paris residency after six-year hiatus
Céline Dion has concluded a 16-concert residency at the Plenitude Arena near Paris, marking her triumphant return to the stage after a six-year hiatus. The performances, which drew approximately 560,000 attendees, were a significant milestone for the singer as she continues to manage the effects of Stiff-Person Syndrome (SPS).
During the residency, Dion performed a mix of French and English classics, including ‘My Heart Will Go On’ and ‘On ne change pas’. The shows attracted high-profile guests, including Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron, Rihanna, and Michelle Obama. For her final performances, Dion wore custom Chanel Haute Couture designed by Matthieu Blazy, which paid homage to her iconic 1997 Oscar look.
Dion is scheduled to return to Paris in May 2027 for an additional ten concerts. In the interim, she will return to her home in Nevada to finalize a new studio album expected to be released in the spring, featuring collaborations with artists such as Stromae.
In related news, Mattel has announced a special edition Barbie doll inspired by Dion’s 1998 Oscar performance, featuring a navy blue gown and a replica of the ‘Heart of the Ocean’ necklace.
