CLIP Group opens South Poland Terminal Zabrze
CLIP Group has officially inaugurated the South Poland Terminal Zabrze, a new intermodal facility located on the former site of the Makoszowy coal mine in Zabrze, Poland. The investment, valued at nearly 193 million PLN, received approximately 72.5 million PLN in funding from the NextGenerationEU program.
The terminal is designed to facilitate the transfer of containers between rail and road transport, strategically positioned at the junction of the A1 and A4 motorways. The facility includes a rail track system, transshipment yards, and supporting logistics infrastructure intended to increase the efficiency of both domestic and international freight flows.
To support the terminal's operations, STS Logistic, a member of CLIP Group, is executing a major fleet expansion. This includes an order for 20 electric Scania trucks for first-and-last-mile intermodal transport, as well as 100 new car transporters. The group aims to reach a total fleet of 470 vehicles upon completion of its development program.
