CLMV nations adopt joint tourism action plan for 2026–2028

Tourism ministers from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Viet Nam (CLMV) have adopted a Joint Action Plan for 2026–2028 to strengthen regional tourism connectivity and cooperation. The agreement was formalized during the 8th CLMV Tourism Ministers’ Meeting held in Ho Chi Minh City in late August 2026.

The plan focuses on several priority areas, including the coordinated marketing of joint tourism destinations, facilitating travel and border connectivity, and enhancing capacity building for tourism officials. A central component of the initiative is the ‘One Journey, Three Destinations’ vision, which aims to promote joint tourism products and branding across the participating nations.

Additionally, the ministers emphasized the importance of increasing private-sector engagement and community participation to implement the plan effectively. The cooperation mechanism seeks to align national tourism programs and expand partnerships with international development organizations to support sustainable tourism development.
