Clínica de Mérida inaugurates PET-CT center in Yucatán

The Clínica de Mérida has inaugurated the Dr. Luis Alberto Navarrete Jaimes PET SCAN Center, featuring a 128-slice PET-CT scanner. This is the first equipment of its kind in southeastern Mexico, representing an investment of over 90 million pesos.

The PET-CT technology combines positron emission tomography, which monitors cellular metabolic activity, with computed tomography to provide detailed anatomical images of organs, bones, and tissues. This allows for the detection of cellular changes associated with cancer, neurological disorders, and cardiac issues before they become visible through conventional X-rays or standard CT scans.

Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena attended the inauguration, noting that the facility will allow patients in Yucatán and the surrounding southeastern region to access advanced diagnostic imaging without the need to travel to other states.
