PET-CT diagnostic technology implementation in Mexico and AR

Overview

Medical facilities in Mexico and Argentina have recently inaugurated advanced PET-CT imaging technology to improve diagnostic precision in oncology, neurology, and cardiology.

In Mérida, Mexico, the Clínica de Mérida opened the ‘Dr. Luis Alberto Navarrete Jaimes’ PET SCAN Center. This facility, representing a private investment of over 90 million pesos, utilizes a 128-slice PET-CT tomograph. The technology is designed to detect molecular and cellular changes before they are visible on conventional X-rays, aiming to provide specialized diagnostics to the southeastern region and reduce the need for patient travel.

In Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Hospital de Oncología María Curie integrated a modern PET-CT system following an investment of over 1.384 billion pesos to adapt its infrastructure. This addition to the public health system is expected to reduce waiting times, improve early diagnosis confirmation, and assist in monitoring patient responses to treatment.
