Cloud orchestration and hybrid management trends
Cloud infrastructure is becoming increasingly distributed, leading to a rise in the use of cloud orchestration to manage complex resources like containers, databases, and virtual machines. Kubernetes is emerging as a dominant orchestration layer; it is projected that 82% of industrial cloud container users will utilize Kubernetes in production by 2025, up from 66% in 2023. The platform's role is expanding beyond microservices to include big data pipelines and AI model inference, with 66% of organizations running generative AI engines on the cloud using Kubernetes for inference tasks.
In Japan, cloud service adoption has reached 80.6% among domestic companies, according to a survey by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. While hybrid cloud configurations—combining on-premises and public cloud environments—are common, they present challenges regarding data synchronization costs, security, and consistency. Solutions involving high-reliability storage functions on public clouds are being utilized to enable efficient data transfers by copying only updated delta data, thereby reducing time and transfer costs while maintaining encryption and data integrity.
