Cloudbass expands OB fleet with Calrec Argo M consoles
Cloudbass is expanding its outside broadcast (OB) fleet to support remote production for a major UK sports broadcaster. The company has secured a contract to provide services for 104 football matches per season over the next four years.
To facilitate this, Cloudbass is deploying two new advanced mobile units, OB20 and OB21, built by dB Broadcast. These units utilize Calrec Argo M consoles as the core of their audio ecosystems. The OB20 unit features a 48-fader Argo M with dual Calrec ImPulse1 cores and an RP1 remote production audio processing engine, while the OB21 unit includes a 24-fader Argo M and a second RP1.
The new fleet is designed around the SMPTE 2110 standard, allowing for seamless integration into an IP-based infrastructure. This transition enables the audio and vision teams to share a single backbone, simplifying the design process and allowing for a virtually unlimited number of input and output streams via AES67.
