Cloudera and Mistral partner for sovereign enterprise AI

Cloudera and Mistral have announced a strategic partnership to deliver secure, sovereign artificial intelligence directly to enterprise data. The collaboration integrates Mistral’s frontier AI models with Cloudera’s hybrid data and AI platform, allowing organizations to build, customize, and operate AI systems using private data without moving sensitive information outside their existing security boundaries.

The partnership is designed for large enterprises in highly regulated or data-intensive industries where transferring proprietary information to external AI services poses regulatory and security risks. By running inference within their own infrastructure, companies can maintain control over their data, intellectual property, and deployment economics.

The combined offering supports deployment across various environments, including public cloud, private infrastructure, on-premises, edge, and fully air-gapped systems. Cloudera noted that its platform currently manages approximately 30 exabytes of enterprise data, which Mistral’s models—covering reasoning, conversational AI, and document intelligence—will be able to access under governed conditions.
