Cloudflare and Madrid sign AI and cybersecurity pact

The Community of Madrid and the American technology company Cloudflare have signed a three-year collaboration protocol to strengthen cybersecurity for public administration and regional businesses against the advancements of artificial intelligence. The agreement was signed in San Francisco by Miguel López-Valverde, the Regional Minister of Digitalization, and Michelle Zatlyn, president and founder of Cloudflare.

The partnership aims to modernize regional administration through initiatives such as agentic AI and process automation, targeting the streamlining of over 1,400 administrative procedures. To ensure the safe and responsible adoption of these technologies, the parties will launch 'Madrid Digital AI Trailblazer,' a training program designed for high-ranking officials responsible for digital transformation in public services and local entities.

Additionally, the protocol includes measures to support the local technological ecosystem through a Startup Acceleration Program, allowing regional startups to access Cloudflare services to build secure digital infrastructures and develop new AI-based applications.
