Cloudflare launches new cf CLI and updates Quick Tunnels
Cloudflare has introduced several updates to its developer toolset, including the launch of a new command-line interface (CLI) called ‘cf’ and enhancements to its Quick Tunnels service.
The new ‘cf’ CLI, currently in open beta, is designed to eventually replace Wrangler. It supports approximately 3,000 Cloudflare API operations, a significant increase over the 280 operations available in Wrangler. The tool is open source, produces JSON by default, and includes a natural language search feature. It also introduces a TypeScript-based configuration file, ‘cloudflare.config.ts’, and integrates Vite as the default development server and compilation system.
Additionally, Cloudflare has updated its Quick Tunnels feature. This service allows developers to publish a local server to a ‘trycloudflare.com’ address without requiring an account or domain. A new security option has been implemented, allowing users to restrict access to specific email addresses, providing better control over who can connect to the exposed local service.
