Araucanía 2026 Binational Games begin in Los Ríos Region
The XXXIII Binational Araucanía Games are set to take place from October 25 to 31, primarily hosted in Valdivia, Chile, with additional activities in Futrono, Panguipulli, Río Bueno, and La Unión. The event brings together young athletes from six Argentine provinces—Tierra del Fuego, Santa Cruz, Chubut, Río Negro, Neuquén, and La Pampa—and seven Chilean regions, including Ñuble, Biobío, La Araucanía, Los Ríos, Los Lagos, Aysén, and Magallanes.
Delegations from various regions have begun their travels to the competition. A 220-person delegation from Tierra del Fuego, including athletes, coaches, and staff, departed by land to participate in eight disciplines: athletics, basketball, cycling, football, judo, swimming, volleyball, and table tennis, which is being included for the first time.
Additionally, the Aysén region has sent a delegation of 183 athletes and technicians to compete. The games aim to strengthen Patagonian integration through sports, with the Para-Araucanía edition scheduled to follow from November 8 to 12.
