Cluj County attracts 603 million euros via PNRR and EU funds

Cluj County has attracted approximately 603 million euros in government and European funds through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and other EU programs over the last five years.

In the commune of Florești, Mayor Bogdan Pivariu reported that local administration has successfully closed most PNRR-funded projects, including sewage systems, electric charging stations, and digital equipment, avoiding the loss of European funds. The only remaining major work involves the expansion of the ‘Dumitru Tăuțan’ High School, which officials aim to finalize within 30 days. Pivariu attributed project delays to tight deadlines and bureaucracy.

In Cluj-Napoca, the Local Council recently approved a real estate project on Calea Turzii 235-237 with 23 favorable votes out of 24, following a period of political dispute. Additionally, the inauguration of a new Neurosurgery Center in Cluj-Napoca marks a significant milestone for health investments completed under the PNRR program.
