Cluj County Council approves €3.86 M disability support project and funds new ultrasound for psychiatric hospital

The Cluj County Council adopted a resolution to fund a partnership between the Transylvania Association for the Promotion of Psychiatric Patients and the County Social Assistance Directorate. The "Mobility and Support" project is budgeted at 3,860,642.42 lei, with the council contributing 47,516.55 lei (2%). It will establish two mobile teams equipped with vehicles and physio‑medical equipment to deliver multidisciplinary, home‑based services – psychological, social, medical and vocational – to adults with disabilities throughout the county. The project will be submitted for EU financing under the Inclusion and Dignity Social Programme 2021‑2027. Council president Alin Tișe said, "We convened an extraordinary meeting because we must promote this social project that will improve the wellbeing of people with disabilities," adding that the EU funding deadline is June 26.

In a related investment, the council allocated about 100,000 lei for a portable ultrasound device for the Borșa Chronic Psychiatric Hospital. The equipment, purchased from the council’s own budget, will enhance internal‑medicine diagnostics and improve access for rural patients. Alin Tișe noted, "Our investments in Cluj’s medical infrastructure continue this year," emphasizing the importance of modern technology for quality care.
