Cluj County Council road works on DJ 103G to Cheile Turzii and DJ 161F near Cătina

The Cluj County Council began maintenance on county road DJ 103G linking DN 75 to the Cheile Turzii plateau, covering a 3.5‑km stretch between km 27+200 and km 30+700. Works include resurfacing, pothole filling, drainage improvements, bridge replacement, sidewalk paving and the creation of access roads to nearby properties. Council president Alin Tișe said the road is vital for tourism and regional connectivity, serving as the main entrance to the Cheile Turzii nature reserve, which draws tens of thousands of visitors each year.

The council also started upkeep on DJ 161F (also designated DJ 161E) near Cătina, a nearly 5‑km segment from its junction with DJ 161E to the border with Bistrița‑Năsăud County. Similar repairs are being carried out—road surface renewal, pothole sealing, drainage cleaning and new property accesses. Tișe noted the road’s importance for providing a direct link with Bistrița‑Năsăud and supporting economic development in eastern Cluj County.
