Cluj metro project loses timeline after removal from Romania's PNRR

Mayor Emil Boc said the previously set timetable for the Cluj metro (M1 line) is no longer valid after the project was taken out of Romania's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). He explained that without a new schedule the work remains in the design stage, which accounts for roughly two‑thirds of the total effort, and that a revised calendar will be published once the contractor submits its updated plan. Boc cited examples from European cities such as Bilbao and Thessaloniki and noted that eight to ten stations are currently undergoing design work.
