Bucharest Ring Road: 13 km of A0 North to open Monday
Traffic is scheduled to open on two sections of the A0 North Bucharest Ring Road, covering 13 kilometers between Afumați, Pantelimon, and Cernica, starting Monday, October 26. This opening will create a continuous connection between the A1 and A2 motorways, as well as the A3 and DN1.
The Ministry of Transport noted delays in the project. Lot 3 (Afumați-Pantelimon), constructed by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) in association with Baxcom, was expected to be completed a year earlier. Lot 4 (Pantelimon-Cernica), built by UMB, had its works finished in the summer but remained closed due to the lack of a temporary connection to the DN3 road.
In response to the delays, the Ministry has requested that the National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) conduct a contractual analysis and apply necessary penalties to the contractors.
