Emergency services battle multiple fires across Romania and Moldova

Multiple regions in Romania and Moldova are facing significant fire emergencies. In Romania, widespread vegetation and forest fires have been reported. In Hunedoara, a single fire burned over 130 hectares, while another incident in the Domogled – Valea Cernei National Park continues to pose a high risk due to dry vegetation and strong winds. Emergency services, including firefighters and helicopters, are actively working to contain these blazes. In Bihor, 16 separate fires were reported, including residential structures.

In Moldova, an intense fire in the Ciorescu suburb of Chișinău destroyed five wagons used for worker housing. While 13 people managed to evacuate safely without injury, the fire caused significant property damage.

Authorities in both countries are warning citizens about the dangers of burning dry vegetation and the risks associated with improper heating systems as temperatures drop.
