Cluj-Napoca to host inaugural AI Technologies & Research Forum

The first edition of the AI Technologies & Research Forum is scheduled to take place on November 18–19, 2026, at the Grand Hotel Italia in Cluj-Napoca. The event aims to bring together researchers, business leaders, investors, and technology experts to discuss the economic, industrial, and societal transformations driven by artificial intelligence.

E-INFRA is participating as a Founding Partner, while the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (UTCN) serves as the Academic Partner to bridge the gap between research and industry. The forum focuses on connecting Romanian talent and infrastructure to create concrete AI projects and competitive advantages.

In a related context regarding AI adoption, data indicates that only 5.2% of Romanian companies with at least 10 employees utilize AI technologies, significantly lower than the European Union average of 20%. Meanwhile, several Romanian municipalities are implementing AI solutions, such as Brașov’s digital twin project and Sibiu’s initiatives involving AI virtual assistants and automated telephone management.
