Cluj-Napoca's Garibaldi Bridge Project Advances as Provisional Bridge Opens to Traffic

The provisional bridge over the Someșul Mic river in Cluj‑Napoca has been fully assembled, and the access road on George Coșbuc Street has been opened to traffic. The bridge is prepared for operation in August, providing a temporary crossing while the permanent Garibaldi Bridge is constructed.

Works are underway to asphalt the surrounding streets and connect the provisional structure to the existing road network. The project, funded by the North‑West Regional Programme 2021‑2027, is being carried out by contractor Geiger Transilvania, with municipal officials such as Vice‑Mayor Dan Tarcea and former Prime Minister Emil Boc highlighting its strategic importance for urban mobility.
