CMA CGM Group completes $1.4 billion acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain
CMA CGM Group has completed its acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain for an enterprise value of approximately $1.4 billion (€1.2 billion). The deal significantly expands the North American contract logistics footprint of CEVA Logistics, a subsidiary of CMA CGM Group.
The acquisition adds roughly 34 million square feet of warehouse space and integrates nearly 10,000 employees. This brings CEVA Logistics’ total North American presence to more than 240 locations and approximately 150 warehouses, with a combined regional workforce of about 20,000 people.
Beyond physical infrastructure, the merger aims to combine digital and operational capabilities to accelerate the use of automation and robotics within the North American network. The move also enhances expertise in the healthcare, technology, consumer, and retail sectors across the United States and Canada.
In conjunction with the acquisition, CMA CGM Group and FedEx have established multi-year commercial agreements. Under these non-exclusive arrangements, CMA CGM will serve as a preferred ocean carrier for FedEx, and the two companies intend to collaborate on air cargo capacity.
