CMAS Underwater Hockey World Championship begins in Kocaeli, Turkey

The CMAS Underwater Hockey Age‑Group World Championship opened in the Gebze district of Kocaeli, Turkey, with an opening ceremony at the Gebze Sports Hall attended by local officials and sport federation leaders. The tournament features athletes, coaches and officials from twelve nations, including Turkey, Colombia, Poland, the United Kingdom, France, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile, the Netherlands, Argentina, the United States and Australia.

Around 533 competitors and 30 referees are contesting titles across junior categories: ten male and nine female teams under 24, and ten male and seven female teams under 19. The competition will run through July, concluding with a medal ceremony on 25 July.
