2026 CMAS Underwater Hockey World Championship

The CMAS Underwater Hockey Age‑Group World Championship opened on 18 July 2026 in the Gebze Sports Hall, Kocaeli, Turkey, with an opening ceremony attended by local officials and sport federation leaders. Twelve nations fielded teams across junior categories, with about 533 athletes and 30 referees competing in under‑24 and under‑19 male and female events.

Turkey’s junior squads secured two medals: the under‑19 men’s team captured gold, while the under‑24 women’s team earned silver. New Zealand won both under‑24 divisions, and Colombia topped the under‑19 women’s event. The final medal ceremony on 25 July was led by Kocaeli Governor İlhami Aktaş and Mayor Tahir Büyükakın, underscoring the city’s role as a hub for international underwater sport and highlighting Turkey’s growing strength in the discipline. The event featured participants from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, France, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and others, and the championship flag was handed to Australia, the next host for the 2028 edition in Western Australia.
