CNAIR launches 18‑million‑lei contract for South Bucharest belt road supervision

The National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) has opened a public tender for the supervision and consultancy services of the South Bucharest belt project, allocating roughly 18 million lei. The contract covers Lot II, which expands a heavily trafficked segment between the A1 motorway and DN5 to four lanes, including redesign of key intersections, drainage, lighting and safety installations. The winning firm will monitor construction quality, quantities, schedule compliance and proper use of funds during both execution and the warranty period. The underlying construction contract, valued at over 504 million lei, is awarded to an international consortium led by Italy’s Rizzani de Eccher with Romanian partner Mavgo Holding, financed largely by European Union funds. Work progress has already surpassed the 40 % mark.
