CNAIR to launch refund application for truck vignettes and bridge tolls

Truck drivers and transport companies in Romania can request refunds for truck vignettes that lost validity as of October 1, 2026, as well as for unused bridge tolls. This follows a change in the road tax regime that replaced the old vignette system for heavy vehicles with the TollRo system.

The National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) is required to launch a dedicated application for these refund requests by December 29, 2026. While the platform is being developed, interested parties may submit requests, but they will only be officially registered once the application is functional. Once a request is registered in the system, refunds will be processed within a maximum of 90 working days.
