Vietnamese football season begins with V.League and First Division updates

The 2026/27 Vietnamese football season has commenced with significant organizational changes and match results. In the V.League, newly promoted Dong Nai faced a difficult debut, losing 0-2 to defending runner-up The Cong Viettel. The match was marked by high VAR activity and a red card for Dong Nai's Jovic.

In the National First Division, the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony in Hanoi to launch the People’s Public Security Football Club (CAND FC) for the upcoming season. Led by coach Nguyen Duc Thang, the club has set a firm goal of earning promotion to the V.League.

Simultaneously, the ceremony marked the official transfer of the PVF-CAND Youth FC to become Hung Yen Football Club. Managed by KBC Hung Yen Joint Stock Company and led by coach Bui Doan Quang Huy, the new club aims to compete for a top-three finish and eventually secure promotion to the V.League. The squad features several experienced players, including Huynh Tuan Linh and Mac Hong Quan.
