CNH do Brasil app enables traffic fine point transfers

The CNH do Brasil application allows vehicle owners to manage traffic infractions and transfer penalty points to the actual driver when a vehicle is lent to another person. This feature is particularly useful for infractions recorded by automated systems, such as speed cameras, where no police officer is present to identify the driver at the time of the offense.

To complete a point transfer, the indicated driver must accept the notification through the app within 30 days. If the driver refuses or fails to respond within this timeframe, the points are automatically assigned to the vehicle owner. For the process to be validated, both the owner and the driver must possess a silver or gold level account on the gov.br portal.

Users can consult infractions via the app by selecting the 'Infractions' tab and searching either by vehicle or by offender. However, point transfers are limited to driving-related offenses, such as speeding or running red lights. Infractions tied to vehicle ownership, such as expired licensing or lack of insurance, cannot be transferred and remain the responsibility of the owner.
