CNH do Brasil app integrates free flow electronic toll monitoring

The Brazilian Ministry of Transport has updated the CNH do Brasil application to allow drivers to monitor and manage electronic toll payments through the ‘free flow’ system. This new functionality centralizes information from both federal and state highways, enabling users to identify the responsible concessionaire and access the correct payment channels directly through the app.

The free flow model utilizes cameras and sensors to identify vehicles automatically, eliminating the need for physical toll booths or barriers. This technology aims to improve traffic flow and reduce accidents caused by sudden braking. Currently, 14 highway concessionaires are integrated into the platform, though the operator for the Rodoanel in São Paulo is not yet included.

Drivers have 30 days to complete payments after a passage is processed. The integration follows a period of technical testing and aims to reduce the high rate of unintentional fines caused by information gaps. For vehicles equipped with automatic payment tags, billing continues through the respective service providers, while the app serves as a central hub for monitoring and transparency.
