CNMC approves gas sector remuneration rates through 2032

Spain's National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC) has approved the remuneration methodology and financial remuneration rates (TRF) for the gas sector for the 2027-2032 regulatory period.

The decision sets a financial remuneration rate of 6.46% for activities involving regasification, transport, and technical management of the gas system—primarily performed by companies such as Enagás, Redexis, and Naturgy. This rate remains consistent with the regulator's initial proposal from April.

In contrast, the rate for gas distribution activities related to meter rentals has been increased to 6.87%. These new circulars are scheduled to take effect on October 1, marking the start of the gas year. The approval followed a participatory process including public hearings and reports from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge and the Council of State.
