CNN Brazil overtakes GloboNews in pay‑TV reach, calls for Ibope reform

CEO João Vitor Xavier said CNN Brazil recorded 26.79 million unique viewers on pay‑TV in the first half of 2026, surpassing GloboNews’s 25.61 million and gaining a 4.43 % lead when measured by reach. He criticised the Ibope audience‑measurement system, urging it to modernise to capture multi‑platform consumption beyond traditional set‑top boxes.

Xavier also outlined plans for CNN Brazil to enter free‑to‑air television by partnering with local stations, aiming for a national rollout in early 2027 pending commercial and legal agreements.
