Coahuila authorities detain man for false claims regarding school attack
Authorities in Coahuila, Mexico, have detained a 26-year-old man following a violent attack at Secundaria General 13 in Ejido La Unión. The individual was apprehended after posting messages on social media claiming responsibility for the assault, which resulted in the death of teacher Nedi Edith Nevárez González and injuries to four others.
The Coahuila State Attorney General's Office clarified that while the man is being investigated for spreading threatening content and inciting hatred and violence, investigations have ruled out his direct involvement in the actual attack. Officials stated the posts were likely intended to cause fear, alarm, and confusion among the population.
To date, authorities have identified two direct suspects responsible for the attack. The investigation continues to determine if any other individuals were involved in the planning or execution of the violence.
