Severe Rain, Hail and Wind Alerts Issued for Coahuila and Chihuahua

The civil protection agencies of Coahuila announced a high‑risk weather alert for July 5‑6, forecasting 50‑75 mm of rain, strong thunderstorms, possible hail and wind gusts of 50‑70 km/h. Officials warned of urban flooding, rapid‑rise river levels, landslides in mountainous areas, power outages and damage from falling trees or structures. Residents were instructed to avoid outdoor activities, stay clear of trees, secure loose objects, and not attempt to cross flooded roads or streams.

A separate forecast for Chihuahua warned of moderate to strong showers across many municipalities, with isolated to scattered rain and hail possible. Wind gusts were expected to exceed 45 km/h in several towns and over 35 km/h across much of the state. Temperatures were projected to reach highs of 36‑39 °C. Authorities similarly advised precautionary measures to protect life and property amid the anticipated conditions.
