Coahuila Congress: Tony Flores removed for two months

The Monterrey Regional Chamber of the Federal Electoral Tribunal has ruled that Antonio “Tony” Flores Guerra must be removed from the Coahuila Congress for the next two months. This decision requires the legislature to reinstate Fernando Rodríguez González as the substitute deputy to recover the period during which he was prevented from exercising his duties due to legal challenges filed by Flores Guerra.

The ruling partially revokes a previous decision by the Coahuila Electoral Tribunal, which the regional chamber found had failed to specify the exact timeframe for Rodríguez González to serve. The chamber clarified that the substitute must serve during the ordinary session period that began in September.

Rodríguez González stated that the legal injunctions filed by Flores Guerra prevented him from performing his legislative duties and participating in the Permanent Deputation. The Coahuila Congress is now tasked with implementing the necessary adjustments to allow Rodríguez González to assume his role for the remainder of September and October.
