Coalition Unity Upheld in Malaysia's Negeri Sembilan Amid PH Protest

A joint leadership council of Malaysia's ruling coalition, comprising UMNO and Pakatan Harapan, met in Kuala Lumpur and was chaired by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. The council agreed to maintain the coalition's cooperation in Negeri Sembilan and to avoid any political polemics that could threaten the state's administrative stability. Meanwhile, hundreds of Pakatan Harapan supporters gathered near Stadium Tunku Abdul Rahman in Seremban and chanted “Tolak Umno” (Reject UMNO). DAP secretary‑general Loke Siew Fook warned that no new Menteri Besar can be appointed nor the state assembly dissolved until ongoing royal matters are resolved, insisting that the current Menteri Besar, Aminuddin Harun, will remain in office. He acknowledged the public’s anger but stressed the need to keep the administration functioning under the status‑quo.
