Coast Guard concludes safety operations in Campania

The Italian Coast Guard has concluded its “Mare e Laghi Sicuri 2026” national operation within the Campania maritime district. The initiative, which ran from June 16 to September 21, aimed to ensure safe and orderly maritime activities along 523 kilometers of coastline and approximately 40,000 square kilometers of water.

During the summer season, the operation utilized approximately 60 nautical vessels and over 150 military personnel daily to maintain a constant presence. The efforts resulted in 31,000 inspections and the rescue of 200 people. The program focused on enforcing navigation regulations, protecting the marine environment, and safeguarding human life at sea through both active surveillance and public awareness campaigns.
