Coast Guard raids beach establishments in Massa Lubrense

The Italian Coast Guard conducted a targeted operation at Marina del Cantone in Massa Lubrense to combat the illegal occupation of maritime state property. The raid, coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office of Torre Annunziata, resulted in the seizure of equipment from several catering and beach establishments.

Among the targeted structures was the well-known restaurant "Maria Grazia," which had previously faced legal measures in July for similar violations. The Coast Guard seized dozens of tables and chairs placed without authorization on the shoreline and along fishing launch ramps. Another lounge bar, "Musdea," also faced seizures of its furnishings. Only one establishment inspected, "L'Africano," was found to be in full compliance with all regulations.

The enforcement action followed a monitoring tour by Deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli and Rosario Lotito of Europa Verde, who had been investigating reports of unauthorized beach concessions and the loss of free public beach access. The intervention has reignited local political debate regarding the oversight responsibilities of the municipal administration and local police in managing coastal territory.
